Daivney Rose Rounds enters our world!

Last week Tuesday night is when it all began....
My day was pretty normal...no contractions or anything...the baby was moving pretty good inside of me..but nothing out of the ordinary. BJ and I went to get some groceries at Walmart that night....besides the feeling of walking around with 'a bowling ball between your legs'...I still felt pretty good. It was about 10:00pm and BJ and I were getting ready for bed...we did devotions where we read the story of Hannah and how she dedicated her first born Samuel to the Lord (pretty appropriate for what would happen later this night). Well after doing devo's and talking for a bit, it was now about 10:30-10:45....I had told BJ I wasn't feeling very well..just really crampy and my stomach felt upset a bit. Well after laying there for a few minutes..I realized it wasn't crampy....it was small contractions! So I decided I was going to go downstairs and time the contractions and see what happens. Immediately BJ says, "OK!" and hops up, throws on his sweats and comes down with me. So we're downstairs and we start timing. First contraction....6 MINUTES! That surprised me...I was like oh crap! The Dr's wanted me to call when my contractions were 5 minutes apart for 1 minute each for 2 hours. Well an hour had gone by now and my contractions ranged from 6 minutes to 3 minutes to 5 minutes...all over the board. So at 12:00am I called the hospital and told them what was happening. They said ok we want you to go another hour and then call. Well here's where the fun began. I waited a 1/2hr. and my contractions had now gone from jumping all over to only 2 MINUTES apart!!! A constant 2 minutes...right on the dot. I called the hospital at 12:50 (in very much pain by this time) and they said come in! So we put Roscoe in the kennel and hit the road.
BJ was doing really good..he was encouraging me to breath, and he kept saying, "You're doing great babe". I was trying to do the breathing techniques but they didn't seem to work well with me..the only thing that seemed to work was by just saying, "oooOooo...OooooOOOo..OOOOO!". That worked well:D Now we were only on the road for about 10 minutes....hazards going, and BJ driving about 80-85mph. All the sudden we see cherries in our rear view mirror. OH GREAT...we're getting pulled over!! It's like a Seinfeld episode or something! The cop comes to the window and BJ tells him we're headed to the hospital, and he says, "Ok..Go go go!". Did I mention that the hospital is 45min from our house? Yah....contractions 2 minutes apart and we have to drive 45 minutes yet. So we're flyin along and BJ is still doing really good..I was so happy that he was there with me, he kept me as sane and calm as he could....I mean when your in that much pain there's only a certain point of calmness that you can hit. He was so good that he was calling out every bump that was coming on the road! Now that's a good husband:D
Well now we are only 3 blocks from the hospital...and ......BUUUUURST! It sure did..my water broke in the car. And I thought I was in pain before that...oh no.....now I was in incredible pain! It got to the point that I couldn't hold it back and I started pushing! I was crying and screaming and telling BJ..."It's coming..it's coming!!!!!!". He kept saying, "No it's not..No it's not!!!". Hahahah:) So we pull up to the front of the hospital and they get a wheel chair. I couldn't even sit on the seat because I honestly felt like it was coming right out! So BJ was holding my legs and I was hanging onto the wheel chair and the security guard was pushing it. They flew around the corners and into the elevator. Thank goodness it was 1:00 am and nobody in the lobby because that would have been the sight to see! We get up to Labor and Delivery and the nurses are scattering all over...I was telling BJ, "TAKE MY PANTS OFF TAKE MY PANTS OFF...IT'S COMING OUT!!!". He later told me that he was trying to push my legs together and I kept trying to push them apart. They get me into a room, throw me up on the bed, rip my pants off, I still have my shirt on, and I did 6 pushes and she was out! The the Lord that we got to the hospital when we did because we really had only about 13 minutes before she came out.
She was beautiful though! The pain that I had gone through (and I was planning on getting an epideral....dangit!) had no resided and I concentrated only on her and BJ. BJ was the best coach I could have asked for. Encouraging the whole way from Day 1, and supported me the whole time. I thank God for him being home when he was, and being able to help me through this.
Daivney was finally with us!!! And she is gorgeous! She weighed 9lbs and was 21 1/2inches long. Completely healthy, and a full head of hair. I couldn't have asked for it any other way. She makes me smile...she makes me cry(already)...she shows me a love that I never knew I could have for someone other than BJ. I thank the Lord each day for this blessing that he has given to us. And I pray that He will help BJ and I to give her the best example of a great marriage and love and show her the love that Christ has for her, and pray that she will follow Him.
She is one week old already and has been doing so well! She wakes up only twice during the night to feed and already smiles:) We couldn't have asked for a better little girl. We are truly blessed to have Daivney Rose Rounds in our lives. Welcome to the world Daivney Rose!!
