B here...Today was a great day...It wasn't great because we necessarily did anything really; just an average day really--I got up, worked out some, came back and took off with Natalie to a meeting, then just spent time with her. Of course, I don't know if she counts me crashing on the couch for most of the afternoon as "spending time together," but I do =). It was a great day simply for the fact that we were together, just being with each other. You might think it odd that I chose a career--the military--that will undoubtedly separate us for stretches at a time, but knowing that just makes days like today all the more sweet. Work gets in the way during the week, with suppertimes and maybe an hour or two in the evenings all the time we get to really spend with each other, so weekends together are the light at the end of the tunnel.
I read once that back in the 14th century or so, the King of Spain sat down and counted all the days that he'd been truly happy during his 50 years of rule. He came up with 14; 2 weeks of happiness out of 50 years. That's 2 weeks out of 2600 weeks, 14 days out of 18,250. That is truly terrible. In the last two weeks, I've spent 2 whole weekends with just Natalie and I. That's 14 days of living, and 4 days of total happiness. More, if you count Fridays after work--when I put the books on the back burner and do my best to forget they exist for a few days. So, back to the numbers...I'll go back three weeks, and I've got 5 days of happiness--it'd be 6, but I had a duty shift that knocked one out. 21 days, 5 'happys.' At that ratio, in a year that'd be near 85. Granted, life picks some weird times to come bite you in the butt, so 85 is obviously high. So, say Natalie and I just decide to forget the whole happiness bit and just rage on each other a few weekends. Go worst case scenario, and assume we go on a diet of nails and rage-ahol. Maybe cut my number of 'happys' in half--down to 42.5 for the year. And you better give me that half a day too, because if I've had to deal with a nail-eating, rage-drinkin' Natalie for any length of time, I think I've earned that half a day...So there we are, at an arbitrary number of 42.5 days of pure happiness out of 365. Still, you know what that makes me?? Richer in one year than that ol' King of Spain would have been had he ruled for 100. And for that, I am eternally thankful.

So, I must admit that I have got BABY FEVER! Ahahha. Yesturday there was a package delivered to our house that happened to the pack n play that we registered for...thanks to BJ's aunt and uncle!! We were super excited! BJ wasn't about to let me try set it up yesturday (it was a long day), BUT today when we got home from running errands, I looked at him and said, "TOOL TIME!". He just let me have at it! I took the thing out of the box, took the time to set it all up, stare at it for a while, and get all excited, and then he said, "Ok, now take it down:)!" I was like AH! His family is coming to visit us in September, and little Ava is going to sleep in that while she is here, but BJ was like, "you can't let it set up for 2 months without doing anything with it, dustmites will get to it!" I saw his point oviosuly....no sense in having it up if we aren't going to use it. So I sat on the couch, and inhaled a banana, and took the thing apart again. It was fun while it lasted though! The highlight of my weekend thus far!

Well, I am new to this 'blog' thing. Anyhoo though, I'll just drop some thoughts down and ya'll can enjoy reading it! California weather is the wierdest thing. This is our 4th state we've lived in now since we've known each other/been married...and by far California has the craziest weather. Where we live it is usually between 59*-75*. Rarely will it get warmer than 75* but for the most part it's in the lower-mid 60*'s. We aren't too crazy about it to say the least....so we are very excited to get somewhere where we will hopefully have all 4 seasons. We can't wait! I suppose the reason I'm on a weather kick at the moment is because tonight we drove to Salinas to pick up the crib for our little one that will be born in December. We only have a car, and so when they came out with the box...we looked at it and shook our heads. NO WAY was that going to fit in the back seat, or the trunk. So we drove to Home Depot and got some rope. We loaded it on top of the roof of our car and BJ tied it down, and we headed down the road. It was probably 59* out tonight...FREEZING when you're driving down the road with the windows cracked because the rope is around the doors. Let me tell ya we looked pretty redneck driving down the road with a huge box on the top of our car, a bedsheet underneath it to not scratch anything, and rope going through the windows. Hehehe....who cares though right!?!? We got the crib, and are very excited!! Now we have to wait till we get to our next station to set it up though. Since it will be sitting in the box until that time, we opened it up and peeked at it real quick to just check it out. Big smiles crossed our faces:) We're very excited for this little one to join us, we're ready to be parents....we think ahahha! Anyway...God has blessed us greatly and we give him the praise and glory for this opportunity of being where we are....even if the weather isn't so great, and also having a little one on the way.
